hot off the press from high in the Italian Alps…

Both the men’s and women’s teams have triumphed in Italy with victory in the male and female categories of the Orobie SkyRaid World Championships.

Great course and a great day out for the Salomon Trail Team. We’re all pretty wasted now mind… The last leg that I did (the Sky Climb) was one of the hardest 1-hour runs I’ve ever done. 700m of vertical ladder climbing at 2000m above sea level (= struggling for oxygen), followed by a jelly-legged 1300m (23mins) drop down to the finish.

I’m off for a plate of polenta, a large sausage and a fizzy beer (local cuisine)!..
