For me (and I know a few of my team-mates might disagree!), events like the LAMM (Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon) are what fell running is all about. Two consecutive days of running about in some of Scotland’s wildest mountain scenery. With just a compass, altimeter, map and enough gear to spend a night on the hill (squashed into a 15l rucksack) you pick your own route through, round and over the hills via eight checkpoints to the finish, where you camp the night and repeat the whole process on day 2. What could be more fun?!
Last year I won this event with Jethro Lennox and this year things went equally well as I repeated the victory, this time with my brother – Joe.
