Stage 6 – Austrian and Swiss Alps to the Dolomites
Over the next 3 weeks Gilbert and I travelled through the Swiss and Austrian Alps doing big long walks and bike rides…the longest being 119km with 2500m climbing.

We arrived in the Dolomites for the Vertical Kilometer race – 3.3km straight up, where I tested out my walking fitness and battled on to win. Yippeeee…The come back! We had an enjoyable week in the dolomites biking and walking with some fantastic weather.

Which thankfully held out for the Drei Zinnen Race – my absolute favourite which was 17.5km, again I battled with 2nd and 3rd positions and with my walking fitness and strength i was able to hold a lead to go for my second win in that race.

With some refreshed confidence, enthusiasm and motivation we headed to the Goretex Transalps Race to share our support to the legendary Salomon teams.Â
With some fine tuning from Magic Physio Andy we headed back to the UK for the Commonwealth Mt Running Championships….
